The Calypso Monarch Criteria is used to judge calypsonians's performances during a Calypso competition.

The current criteria which is in effect is as follows:

Total Points: 100
Lyrics: 40

  • Originality: 10
  • Interpretation & Development: 10
  • Use of Language
  • Creativity: 10


Music: 35

  • Originality: 10
  • Melody: 15
  • Arrangement: 5
  • Compatibility: 5


Performance & Presentation: 25

  • Rendition: 10
  • Diction & Clarity: 10
  • Delivery & Presentation: 5
